The Early Night is the sixth episode of the second series of Sooty.
Plot
Richard plans an early night in preparation for Mr Slater's fitness class. But when Sooty's pet mouse escapes, and Sweep loses his favourite bone, his hopes of a good night's sleep look set for disaster.

- The Lost Caves of Throng mentioned in the book Richard reads to Sooty is a reference to a game of the same name mentioned by Soo in the Sooty Show episode "The Good, the Bad and the Furry".
- The wardrobe in Sooty, Sweep and Soo's bedroom now has sliding doors.
Goofs
- Soo stated in Sooty's Magic Solutions that she is not afraid of mice.
- When Richard picks up the pillow before confronting the "burglars", he holds it up by his head in the close-up shot, but in the following wide-shot, he is suddenly holding it at waist level.
- Richard stands on the puppeteer's step to put the mouse back in the cage; you can see him step off it as he exits the shot.
- In reality, a burglar wouldn't take cheese out of the fridge and leave the TV and more valuable items.
- Sweep and Soo should have already known about Mr. Whiskers.
