Only Joking is an episode of The Sooty Show from 1991.

Plot[]

Sooty, Sweep, and Soo are playing tricks on Matthew. Later, Matthew goes to visit the joke shop to buy some jokes to get revenge on his little friends. At the shops, Simon Smartypants, a television presenter, is waiting. He is filming his show "Giant Jokes" where he plays pranks on members of the public. The "Giant Jokes" team move Matthew's car and replace it with a bike but Simon Smartypants turns out to be a big sourpuss when his joking backfires and his car is given a parking fine. It turns out that the "Giant Jokes" production team had rang Matthew and arranged for him to help play a joke on Simon and Matthew knew that all the business with his disappearing car was a joke.

This is the only time bleeping is used to indicate the censoring of swear words.

Goofs[]

It would have been impossible to move Matthew's car because it was locked. To gain entrace the "Giant Jokes" team must have climbed in through an open window and hot-wired the car. This is explained as Matthew was in on the joke and probably supplied them with a spare set of keys but no car motor can be heard.
