Sooty's Christmas Party is the Sooty Christmas Show of 1988.

Plot[]

It is Christmas Day and everything is going very well. Sooty, Sweep and Soo have great presents and the lunch time Christmas party is a great success.

After a long snooze on the sofa, Matthew starts tidying up after the party. He is surprised to see Sooty, Sweep and Soo's presents stuffed behind the sofa cushions. Sooty, Sweep and Soo are now playing with the wrapping and boxes of their presents to play at being space adventurers. As Matthew sets the table for Christmas dinner, Soo and Sooty are trying to make Sweep let Soo give him a little Christmas kiss under the mistletoe in the bathroom. After all the food they have had at the party, the gang do not have the appetite for Christmas dinner, that is until after and squirting from Matthew's new water pistol and a dunking in the trifle.

Before bedtime, Matthew reads Sooty a story about Father Christmas and remember a time they once thought they met him with one of his pixies in the middle of the previous summer: However Father Christmas and his pixie, Sandra were acctually the Battersea Burglers for the Birmingham Broque in disguise and Sherlock Sooty set a trap for them so that they could get caught by the police.

Sooty asks Matthew how long it will be until the following Christmas and the gang finish their Merry Christmas Day with a song about how it will be 364 days until next Christmas comes around again.

  • Soo's stunt puppet is used during the Christmas dinner sequence.

Goofs[]

  • When Matthew tells the story of when they met Father Christmas, he talks about himself in third person.
  • The Battersea Burglers for the Birmingham Brogue should have known that being disguised as Father Christmas and a Christmas pixie during midsummer would not help them avoid being caught by the police.
  • In reality, they should have known that they were fake as Santa would not use a van to travel around in, plus he would not go into the open countryside to organize his presents.
